The Avenue of the Americas Association invites its members to participate in numerous programs each year. These include:

Directors’ Luncheons
The Board of Directors meets regularly to address issues affecting the Avenue and its members, and to govern the Association. The Association also invites guest speakers, which are typically from City government, to update members on pertinent issues affecting the Avenue.

The Annual Luncheon
Held each spring, the Annual Luncheon is both a social event and an arena for compelling presentations by the City’s most important business and civic leaders. It is also an opportunity for the Association to present annual contributions to local organizations.

The Gala Dinner Dance
Autumn heralds the Association’s Annual Dinner Dance. It is at this much-anticipated event that the Association presents its Gold Key Award, which honors an outstanding achievement that has had a positive impact on the City or the Avenue. Over 340 people attended this year’s Dance, which also offered an exciting array of raffle prizes, including tickets to Saturday Night Live and The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.

Support of Cultural Institutions
The Association has reached out to several museums located along the Avenue to offer its support during difficult fiscal times. The Association was pleased to present contributions to the American Folk Art Museum, the International Center of Photography, the Museum of Arts and Design and the Museum of Television and Radio. These organizations also offer special benefits to the Association’s members. The Association has also supported the Donnell Library Center, helping the library purchase new computers

Street Cleaning Program
Working through The Doe Fund’s Ready, Willing & Able program, the Association provides supplemental street cleaning support from 42nd through 59th Street on the Avenue. The Ready, Willing & Able program was the first residential paid work and training program of its kind for formerly homeless and low-income individuals.

Homeless Outreach
Working in conjunction with the Volunteers of America (VOA), the Association has spearheaded a program to provide outreach assistance to homeless individuals along the Avenue.

Police Briefings
The Association orchestrates at least one meeting a year with representatives from the local precincts, where members are introduced to the individuals responsible for safety along the Avenue.
